Pefa was founded on a simple idea born on the auction floor: fresh fish deserves a bigger market. Around the turn of the century, as the internet began transforming industries worldwide, we saw the chance to connect fish auctions directly with buyers anywhere — creating an open, transparent marketplace where fishermen get the best possible price for their catch. That idea became Pan European Fish Auctions: Pefa, and it still drives everything we do today.
Our first service, Pefa Auction Clock, brought the auction itself online — letting buyers bid on fresh fish in real time, wherever they were. Services such as Pefa Auction, Pefa Data for Fishermen and Pefa eLog came next — all online services that facilitate the work of fishermen, fish auctions and fish buyers, developed in step with the needs and developments within the fishing industry.
